Our Mission
The Mental Wellness Art Kit provides a guide for classrooms to practice important mental health techniques, such as mindfulness and emotion regulation. Art therapy and other mindfulness activities through art are effective, research-based methods for many clinics to improve the mental health of their patients suffering from traumatic events or mental health concerns. This list of activities includes ideas and techniques used by mental health clinics to teach children similar practices to improve and recognize their mental health. By providing an ongoing but abundant list of activities and their respective instructions, this website hopes to aid elementary school teachers in teaching their children about mental health and practices to improve mental health.

Why Art?
As stated by the British Association of Art Therapists, art therapy differs from other types of therapy methods. Art therapy hopes to create a safe environment and encourage personal growth through artistic expression and methods. This website will help complile accredited art therapy activities created by different art therapy organizations and other original art activity ideas centered around positive mental health practices.
Our Approach
We combine research-based practices with engaging art activities to promote mental health in elementary classrooms.
Research Backs Art Therapy

Art therapy is the utilization of artistic methods and activities to improve general mental health or targeted concerns. Both through research and professional recommendation, Art therapy has proven to be a useful method or alternative for therapy. It is especially important to teach children proper mental health practices and the general topic of mental health. Therefore, art offers a variety of methods for incorporating mental health topics with art.
