Instructions:

1. Explain that constellations are groups of stars that people long ago connected into shapes and gave meaning to. Introduce the activity by telling the students that they will be designing their own constellation, representing themselves.

2. Have the students place star stickers or draw stars on the dark paper. Each star should represent something important (a strength, memory, value, goal, or someone special).

3. Using chalk or metallic markers, have the students connect their stars with lines to form a unique constellation shape.

4. Conclude the activity by inviting students to explain what some of their stars stand for and why they connected them in a certain way. Some guiding questions include "Which star is the most important to you right now?", "How does your constellation represent who you are", etc.
