Butterfly’s Journey

Transform students' dreams and goals into a vibrant artwork, using the butterfly’s life cycle to explore growth, reflection, and their unique path to becoming their best selves!

List of Materials Needed: 

​- Drawing paper or cardstock

- Colored pencils, crayons, or markers

- Paints (optional)

- Scissors and glue (for collage)

- Magazines or printed images of butterflies, cocoon, and worms

- String/ yarn

- Stickers, glitter, or other decorative items

- Pencil and eraser

Instructions:

1. Explain the butterfly life cycle to the students: caterpillar → cocoon → butterfly.

2. Have the students draw or print a caterpillar representing their current self. Ask them to write a description. Ask "What are your strengths? What challenges are you facing right now?" 

2. Repeat for cacoon. Ask "What steps or support will help you grow?"

3. Repeat for butterfly stage. Ask "What do you hope to become? How will it feel to reach your goal?"

4. Have them cut and glue the images onto a larger piece of paper. Connect each stage with yarn or string.

5. Encourage students to share.
